Wally is an older dog that has not been adopted just because he looks different. What he craves is a loving place to spend his last years, When Wally first arrived at the shelter you could see that he had a difficult life. He entered as a homeless dog about 10 years old, and it was clear that he had lived outside most of his life.

Despite everything that had happened, all Wally wanted from the beginning was for someone to love him. Immediately, his new shelter friends gave him all the love and attention he needed. The dog had several medical problems, including a serious skin infection and was blind in one eye, and also looked a little different.

The staff of the Town of Islip Animal Shelter was worried that their unique appearance could take away potential adopters, but they hoped they could see the wonderful dog they had quickly fallen in love with.

Danielle Gorle, a veterinary technician at the shelter told The Dodo: He loves to drool and does anything for some food. He also likes to hang out and do nothing

Wally has so much love to give and what he craves most is to find that ideal family to share. Unfortunately, more than a year has passed and this sweet dog is still waiting in the shelter. Being an older dog, Wally just wants a quiet place to live his golden years, instead of ending his life in a shelter, where he feels increasingly depressed.

His rescuers hope to find him a family forever as soon as possible. Ideally, Wally could find a home with no stairs, no children under 15, and no other pets. He also needs a family that understands his medical needs, and who knows that all he needs more than anything is love, and he will return it in return.

Wally all he wants now is to curl up with a family that loves him for the rest of his days, after having had a difficult life.
